You liked the Karina, take a look at the KYA!

The Karina is a wonderful staircase for those tight spaces. A standard kit (which comprises of 12 risers) requires a unbelievable 60 by 140cm opening in the ceiling and stretches out a maximum of 155cm with a width of 57cm. That is if you only go straight as well. The beauty of these "Off the Shelf" kit systems (other than there "Do - It - Yourself" construction) is they're adjustable on site; you can alter the step per rise and shape of this very stair by positioning the interlocking barrel system in a variety of ways.

The difference between the Karina and the Kya is the balustrade, please see the pictures which depict this difference.

Now we come to the colour options, as with most of our timber systems you have an option for light or dark timber and the steel work is either white, grey or black. So a 6 combination choice (of course this is something that has to be decided upon placing an order!!). Landing balustrade is also an option in a matching colour scheme, these come in 1.2m lengths and can be shaped / cut on site.

A standard Kya staircase retails at £ 799.00 (including VAT and delivery!!)

Please see our website for more information - check out those crazy paddle steps!

Thank you and happy staircase hunting!!

The Komoda Staircase

After a bit of a break our latest blog is on the Komoda Staircase which is not too dissimilar from the Kompact staircase. In fact the only difference between the two stairs is the balustrade, the Kompact has vertical spindles whilst the Komoda has horizontal wires (this generally does not comply to UK staircase regulations).

This kit staircase comes in a width of 74 or 89cm so is perfect for those small spaces whilst retaining a feature stair feel. The going (depth of step) is adjustable on site so you can really have a play with what you want to achieve. A standard kit comprises of 13 risers but you can add up to 3 more giving you a floor to floor span up to 373cm (352cm within UK regs.), the stair can arrive in a straight run, L or U shape (this needs to be specified on the order).

The support of the kit staircase comes from a central spine which is steel powder coated, every step you have a vertical baluster which has horizontal wires running on the outside. The staircase can also come with riser bars to reduce the gap between the step to below 100mm and additional landing balustrade to protect your staircase opening up stairs. If you want to configure your own Komoda staircase please follow this link to your configurator.

The Komoda (and Kompact!!) Kit Staircase comes in a range of different colour options, the steel work can be pearl grey, white or black whilst the timber on the stair can be light or dark walnut stained. In total 6 staircase variations to choose from. If you would like more information on this kit staircase please contact the office on 01794 522 444 or go to our website.

Thank you and happy staircase hunting!!

The Kompact staircase can come in either a width of 74 or 89cm and because it has an adjustable going it is the perfect solution for those tight spaces and is something of a feature. The stair consists of timber treads / handrail in stained beech and steel vertical spindles. This gives the kit staircases something of a contemporary feel, a designer stair if you like. The "designer stair" feel is accentuated by it's steel powder coated spine and open rise.

The Kompact staircase can be positioned in numerous fashions. It can be a straight staircase, a quarter turn staircase or a half turn staircase - Please take a look at our configurator to create your perfect stair. In addition to the standard 13 riser staircase kit you can also add additional tread / riser kits. This means you can do heights right up to 3730mm with the lowest being a 1910mm stair.

The Kompact staircase has an option of 6 different colour co - ordinations. You could have a Light or Dark stain on the timber and the stair's steel work can be Pearl grey, White or Black. The delivery time is aproximately 15 - 20 working days and prices start from  about £ 1,300.00 + VAT.

This kit staircase comes with full instructions and is extremely straight forward to put together.

Please see our Kit Stair System website for more details (including product sheets, plan views, the brochure and instructions) or call our showroom office on 01794 522 444.

Thank you.

Internal Metal Spiral

Hello all!!

With my recent neglect of the Kloe system in favour of the Klan system I've realised our metal staircases haven't had an awful lot of attention either. We recently set up a kit variation in our showroom which displays the Civik system (our internal metal staircase) and cannot wait to be able to show our customers what the stair is all about.

Generally this system is used as a secondary access to a loft or for an extension / conversion. It comes in 1.2, 1.4 or 1.6m diameter and can reach dizzying heights of 3.76m (although it is always good to check the rise per step on a height like this). The system is adjustable on site (can be spun anti clockwise or clockwise) and comes in three different colours (grey, white or black). The staircase also has a non slip pad on each of it's treads.

If you need any more information on this system please follow this link.

Thank you, and happy staircase hunting!!!

Hi Kit Stair fans!

After my recent blog on the Klan spiral staircase I thought it unfair to miss out the lovely Kloe.

Albeit that this staircase doesn't officially comply to UK domestic regulations it does sell rather well. This is due to a combination of inspectors using their common sense when some rules seem unnesccesary  and that we supply these stairs outside the UK.

The Kloe spiral staircase has the same colour options and details as the Klan but has horizontal wires running around the outside rather than vertical spindles. Many people who live near the sea or have a particular nautical feel to their house love this balustrade system.

For more information on the Kloe 1.2, 1.4, 1.5 or 1.6 metre diameter spiral please see this page.

Thank you.

And happy stair hunting!!!

Klan Spiral Staircase

Hi All,

We sold a Klan Spiral Staircase last Friday and have managed to get the item into the country and booked in for delivery to our customer for tomorrow. Once the customer has taken delivery he plans to take the spiral to his holiday home in France - we of course could have delivered the item to France but this wasn't logistical for our customer.

The Klan spiral staircase is a Beech and powder coated steel staircase which comes in a range of different finishes. The timber can be light or dark varnished and steel can be white, pearl grey or black. It comes in four different diameters and can be made to fulfil all requirements of the UK regulations for a secondary spiral stair.

One of the many advantages of a Klan system is it is fully adjustable on site and very easy to install. On our website you can configure the staircase using our plan (before you purchase the item) and peruse all the variant options.

Thank you for reading.

Useful guide to buying a Spiral Staircase

My colleague at our sister company Complete Stair Systems wrote this article about the regulations when purchasing a spiral staircase. It is of course one of the most important things to consider and this article answers all the most commonly asked questions.

I hope it is useful!
